Adapt

The arctic fox's fur is highly adaptable to his environment, changing colors with the season. Check this site out for more interesting information about the little guy.

Those are his tails coiled on the top shelf. I wanted to show the coats hanging but felt no respectable fox would let his tail drag on the ground. Maybe they attach like clip on ties.

The polar bear however is not quite so fortunate. It's too bad he can't just drop his coat and run free to cope with global warming!

An interesting fact is that the polar bear's skin color is actually black, which helps absorb heat in the cold climate of the arctic.

I was trying to find out if the skin of the arctic fox is black as well, but I couldn't find anything. Does anyone know?

P.S. This image was created from start to finish using ArtRage 2.5. The tools I used was the art marker for the "inked" lines and flat colors and the pastel and pencil for the rest

Very charming. Like the way he's dressing up as if it's another day at work. Those spare suits and matching color tail attachments are too funny!

That's fantastic! I love the idea of naked foxes shivering as they try to decide what to wear! :)

What a very nice illustration!
Love the way you've worked with the colors and the B&W background.

Thanks a lot for the advice... for my illustration i used the pen tool entirely... i followed up the link you posted and GOD, that place was a gold mine... i sat and watched all the tutorial videos at once, using his technique i'm working on an illustration right now, will post later for you to check and comment... :)

about the fox, i really don't know if he has black skin... and talking about art rage, is it by the same people who have made sketchbook pro? seems similar... also, is better to use artrage or Painter? they are also quite similar....

Thanks for everyone's comments. They are greatly appreciated!

Anish, I am not familiear with Sketchbook Pro. I have not used Painter but have seen incredible work done with it on the web. It is much more powerful in terms of the number of tools and how they can be adjusted. It also costs quite a bit.

I recommend trying out the free version of ArtRage. A few of the tools and tool adjustments are turned off but you can still save files with it. I found it very intuitive to use and felt it was well worth the $25 for the full version with layers and the full tool capability. Their website has a good forums group, and YouTube has some videos on how it can be used as well.

I've been reading your comments (between you and Anish), and I've noted the tips you gave. I make digital work too (just started out), and want to try everything. Thanks for sharing it!
